Why We Built Zeal
Zeal was built by operators. Our team spent years inside places like Accredo and PANTHERx and inside manufacturer programs, and we kept running into the same problems: delays, dead ends, and blind spots the industry had simply learned to live with. We started Zeal to fix them, and to bring a human touch back to the field that pioneered specialty care.
So, What’s With the Zebra?
In medicine, students are taught: “when you hear hoofbeats, don’t expect a zebra.” Most diagnoses are common. But in rare disease, we see the zebras. The zebra is the symbol of rare disease, and a reminder that every patient is an individual, not a number in a system. We change our stripes’ colors to back the advocacy causes of the patients we serve.

Jonathan Ogurchak
Jonathan co-founded Zeal to build specialty pharmacy the way he always believed it should be built. Across more than 17 years in the field, he helped build the operational and technology infrastructure behind PANTHERx, with a team he brought together, and helped scale it into one of the fastest-growing specialty pharmacies in the country, the place manufacturers trusted to launch rare and orphan therapies. Convinced that capability should reach beyond a single pharmacy, he founded the technology company STACK/OnQueue and co-founded Zeal to build it the right way. He is Chair-Elect of the Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board and adjunct faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University.
Brenden Harper
A healthcare-industry veteran focused on relationships, rapid business development, and ethical growth. Brenden is CEO of Wicklow Enterprises and a recognized leader in the spine community, with 16+ years alongside leading medical-device manufacturers.
Jessica Boyd
With over 18 years of experience in specialty pharmacy, Jessica brings a powerful blend of clinical expertise, operational leadership, and startup know-how to Zeal Specialty Pharmacy. Her career has spanned roles at some of the nation’s largest specialty pharmacies, like Accredo, as well as pivotal leadership positions at PANTHERx Specialty, where she helped scale operations from the ground up into nationally recognized programs.
Currently serving as Vice President of Operations at Zeal, she is responsible for the day-to-day operations, new program launches and management, building and optimizing workflows, developing patient-focused clinical outcome programs, and spearheading staff training initiatives. Her strategic thinking and people-first approach shine through in every facet of her work…from building high-performing teams and ensuring seamless collaboration across departments to promoting staff engagement. She is passionate about creating and sustaining a positive and balanced culture for employees, clients, and patients alike.
Jack LaQuatra
Jack serves as Director of Business Operations at Zeal Specialty Pharmacy, where he oversees a broad operational portfolio spanning information technology, cybersecurity, physical security, and facilities management.
With over 20 years of IT experience, Jack brings deep technical expertise and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to every corner of the organization. At Zeal, he is responsible for maintaining a secure and resilient infrastructure in a HIPAA-regulated environment, managing end-user technology across both on-site and remote teams, and ensuring that the systems, facilities, and security measures supporting Zeal’s staff meet the highest standards.
Michael Nan
With years of experience spanning hospital, specialty, long-term care, retail, and home infusion pharmacy settings, Michael Nan serves as Director, Pharmacy Operations, providing leadership and guidance over all aspects of Zeal’s growing portfolio.
Cassandra Pavkovich
A specialty pharmacy leader with expertise in compliance, accreditation, quality management, and workforce development. Cassandra oversees Compliance and Education at Zeal, leading programs that support regulatory readiness, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. She is passionate about building high-performing teams, strengthening quality systems, and advancing patient-centered care.
